Perhaps it's supposed to be Navaros, although, I'd imagined that Nav had been... 'expunged' in that last fight. Since no one was revealed in the story to be superior to him, it must've been whatever part of Navaros which wasn't physical, which needed Delon as a host body.
That laughing is pretty meaningless. Let's face it: the original ending of OOTF is pretty meaningless as well. =) That won't stop us from making (conspiracy) theories, though. >)
A Surreal-related human laughing at Delon falling on the Rift and pleasing himself with the work the team has accomplished in yet another crappy ending?
I dunno, I'm a conspirator.
It would have made sense if Rynn comitted suicide, but in the final cutscene of OoTF. To save money and work to the poor fellows of Surreal. Then, the man behind the mirror would have plus 2 motives to laugh.
I'm just getting the idea that Rynn is a cold-hearted bitch who only went after his brother because it was her "duty" as older sister.
Her "duty" to rescue him, because, if she didn't, what would the people say? "Oh, she loved him so much that she didn't even tried to rescue him...", and from here to the public floggings, rock throwing and banning of the village is just a small step... so she went.
The psychopat aspect is interesting indeed. After all, who survives her passage on OoTF (the ones who played TAG can clarify this)? Just an old man...
