Graphics are all out of perspective

Greetings all-
I had Drakan several years ago as a CD-ROM that came bundled with a graphics card I bought for a Win98 PC. The CD disintegrated in the drive after a couple of years and I haven't played it since.
I downloaded a version this week, but I can't get it to look right on my WinXP. The characters are hidden behind the scenery and are out of proportion. What's going on? Is there a setting I need to change or a patch to download?
Thanks!

Sounds like a driver issue. Drakan has known issues with Intel onboard video and S3 cards which produce problems like you are describing. What are your system specs?

If your video card has a control panel you might try turning off alot of the "new functions". Draken is an old game as you know.I had several crashes before I turned off most of the new "buzzers and whistles".

I'm running WinXP Home SP3, 760Mb RAM, with a 2.5 gHz Celeron and the on-board video. The CD version of the game worked fine in this computer

Greetings: Onboard video does not work for this game. You "Must" have a 3d video card installed, preferabley more than 32 mb memory.

I was afraid of that. My I/O Magic 3D card went to the recycler with my Win98 computer years ago.
Funny, the CD version worked on this computer, though.
Ah, well - I guess I'll have to find another way to eat up hours at a time.[:p]

Yes, definitley the onboard video. If your system has an AGP or PCI-E slot you can upgrade the graphics.

Yup. Same thing happened on my old computer with it's onboard video card too.
