Azenera Kavoh fortress

Having a lot of fun with the excellent Azenera. Stormed the old Kavoh fortress without a weapon or armour. Anyway,went back and killed everyone but there's a trelllis gate blocking the way into some caves which I couldn't get passed. Moved on to the dragon fields level now but is it worth my going back to try to get passed that gate?
